'Running up that hill'

Word Count for the Pet Sitters: 49,000

I feel like I've been writing this damn book forever when, in reality, I have been writing a few hundred words here and there for over two years before knuckling down and doing roughly a thousand a day. So...no one to blame but me.

Wednesday was lousy day. I had a hissy fit when my husband asked if we were going to have oven chips...again! To serve him right I didn't write anything so he'll have to wait even longer before I am a best selling author and can keep him in cricket pads and cider.

I have been trying to think of other resources to help me and other writers. I mentioned YouWriteOn.com - funded by Arts Council. You register (all free) and then have to review three other writers' works before submitting your own. You can't chose what you are giving but you can refuse as many as you like and us for another. I have a brilliant link to a UK agent manuscript who states why she rejects submissions if any one is interested?

1000 words a day is pretty good going - that's a novel in three months, after all. Well done you.

The Write Idea and The Grail are two non-bitchy, helpful writing sites that I use often

Yes please to the link.

Oven chips indeed - men eh? I liked your punishment though...

You have great links - bung 'em all up :)

YouWriteOn is fab - I checked it out when you mentioned it last and would heartily recommend it to everyone else...

Am gonna check Rachel's links now! Oh dear. Writing? Hmmm, maybe later...
