Hopes for the UK Racers

I don't watch the news often, but I was skimming past CNN and I saw how bad the flooding is in the UK right now. I just wanted to send my hopes that all of the racers who live in the effected areas are okay and above the flood levels. My thoughts are with you guys.

When you get a chance, let us Yanks know you guys are OK over there.

:hugs:

Awwww, thanks B.E. I'm fine, well above flood level I'm glad to say. Hope all other UK-based novel racers are too. It is horrendous though - and still raining...

Such a kind though, B.E. ~ like Zinnia I am well out of the way of it all (fortunately!), and I can't imagine what it must be like for the poor people who've lost everything.

Hope everyone is warm & dry,

Best wishes

Hi all,

Been following the blog with interest for a few months and am now hoping to join in - yes I've finally plucked up the courage to go public with my weary word count.

New to all this though - how do I get on and add you all to the list on my blog? Can someone sign me up or throw me a bone of assistance?

Looking forward to joining in,

Jude x

Jude, if you email Nichola (her profile's on the left) she will sort you out and add you. Woo hoo, another racer :)

The flooding is awful; it must be like living through a disaster movie for those caught up in it.

We've had a bit - I've never seen it so bad where we are - but nothing as bad as those in Gloucester, Oxford etc. It's gone down a lot now but when it did come last week it just surged. We went from the river being a foot or so under the top of the bank to being about a three feet over, just in the space of an hour or so.

And it is still raining heavily.

We haven't had any floods yet. It's still raining though.
Hope everyone else is ok,

Bad flooding very close to me. A dog I look after was trapped in a garage as his house was filled with water from nearby stream which turned in a fast flowing river and burst banks. Dog's fine. We are in between Purley and Caversham in Berkshire which has been flooded but, thank God, our house has escaped - off to Cornwall today. Might have to row there!
Thanks for thinking of us here across the pond.

Glad to hear you're all okay. Hopefully anyone who didn't check in is fine, too.

(Ack. I'm turning into my mother.)
