I know from discussions on Romancing the Blog and forums that the sort of schmoozing I do at gaming or media conventions differs from expected behavior at writing conventions. Perhaps this should wait until I'm hosting a coffee break, but I was thinking the
post about my family's GenCon experience I put up on my Live Journal today might be of interest to those wondering what I keep going on about.

A fascinating read, not least for the casual way you drove for 14 hours! I'm not entirely certain the England is that long.

There are hours of videos on GenCon over at You Tube -- most of them more entertaining than those. (Maxim magazine is mostly about being "cool" than depicting gamers on their own terms.)
14 hours in a car is a bit much. Most people regard 7 to 9 as a reasonable trip. Americans who commute to work by car average just over an hour each way. (I only spend about 30 minutes.) American cars are large because Americans spend more time in their car than anywhere else except their bed.
