I agree with her conclusion that you need both organic evolution for fiction writing, in addition to plotting. The exact mixture will vary and different mixes will suit different writers and genres.
I did not like her definitions of what plot and story are, however. I found them to be a bit restrictive and possibly over-simplified.
I'm a mix as well. Must have some kind of outline in my head and on paper before I take off. Once the basic plot is established, then the organic part does the developing.
