Hey guys
I’ve not been blogging for a couple of weeks, sorry. But I’ve been having a tough time with my writing lately. You all know my saga about book one, its journey with me to nowhere and how, for some reason not even known to me, that I wouldn’t give up on it?
So, after a long and painful decision making process, I have decided to let it go. I’ve written a bit more about it on my blog if you’d care to visit. I’ve valued your support since I joined the group and I’d really value it now.

Sometimes we have to.
I have a nasty first d(r)aft manuscript still sitting in a drawer.
I know the feeling. I have considered abandoning my m/s but something keeps dragging me back
I know how you feel and have left a comment on your blog.

Hi, sorry to hear that ~ maybe leave it dormant for a while, and go back to it (even if it's in 10 years time?!)
I abandoned my first novel last year, cos i wrote myself into a corner that i couldn't get back out of, but i'm still keeping it in a cupboard, just in case....
Ohhh...sorry to hear that. Tough call - but letting go can be very liberating too - and just as positive as it is negative, if that makes sense.
xx
Good for you having the courage to let it go. I hate scrapping even the smallest of ideas. Now I'm sure you can concentrate on something you really enjoy writing.
ps. not sure if this is the place to leave this message but can I be placed on the waiting list. I have wanted to join for ages but didnt feel confident enough. I have been really helped by Helen's 100 wad and think this would be an even bigger incentive to get my novel finished. I'm currently on 20% and need a rocket putting somewhere!!
I know how you feel. About eight years ago I wrote thirty-three chapters and eventually realised it was going nowhere so I put it in a drawer and haven't looked at it since. Although every time I clean out the drawer I just can't seem to pitch it. Now that you've found the nerve to leave it you can start fresh. Good luck.
Lily - If no one gets back to you about you wanting to join the waiting list via your comment here, try emailing Liz Fenwick. I think she's an admin person for this blog. Not sure who else is!
Tough call L-plate but well done for the strength to let go. x
Lily I will add you to the wait along with a DOT who asked too.
Almost throught the major re-write and promise to catch up on admin!
Lily, that's what we are here for. You won't believe the comments over on my blog. And even though you are in the wings, you'll never join a better club.
Thanks to you all for being there when I needed you. Love y'all.
x
Thanks Paige, no need as I have just logged into find lots of lovely messages including the one below yours. I am feeling very pleased I got the courage to ask. Feeling all safe and sound now.
Yay, thanks Liz. I was all set to get in touch and now I need not. Thank you for the add. I shall link back to the novel racers - I feel like I'm waiting to get my 'real' pink ladies jacket. I'm so sad, please ignore me - back to L-Plate and sorry for Hi-jacking (bad novel racer apprentice).
