Finished! (ah, if only...)

Just popping in to say I've finished the first draft of my latest!

It's just over 95,000 words, which is actually relatively short for me, and it will be expanding soon as it's quite a messy first draft. Well, VERY messy, in fact, with so many things I need to change, but I wanted to do it as fast as possible this time. I've done it this way to give me the confidence that I could get there, as I have a very tight deadline, partly because I jettisoned the last project in December (well, mothballed it) and decided to write a sequel to The Secret Shopper's Revenge in time for this Christmas. It is a record for me - started January 5, finished today 16 March. All of me aches as I've been putting in too many hours at the laptop.

Now it's time to roll my sleeves up and get to work on editing this unruly beast of a book (four viewpoints at the moment, not sure it'll stay in that form) - TOMORROW. Though before that I plan to enjoy a celebratory G&T. Bottoms up!

Oh Bottoms Up indeed. Can't wait to read it. I've read SSR twice and am in danger of making it my Master Mind specialist subject.

Many congrats Kate - that's astonishingly fast! Am in awe.

Will be interested to hear what you do about the viewpoints. I'm writing with 3 (2x 1st POV & 3rd), for the first time ever and a tiny bit of me is screaming, "I don't know what I'm doing!" but I'll continue on until the end of the first draft and, hopefully, fix it afterwards!
