We are all racists and what writers can do about it

Writer, editor, and educator Mary Ann Mohanraj was guest blogger on John Scalzi's site. Very worthwhile reading.

Ok that was a long read. But totally worth it. Gave me a lot of food for thought, once I got past my knee-jerk 'this doesn't apply to me' reaction. I'm going to think about this for work that's part finished, as well as work in progress.

If you haven't read it yet, grab yourself a cuppa (or whatever!) before you start, they are loooong :)

A very helpful and informative article. Thanks for those links, KeVin.

The more I read about writing, the more I find the guideline "write what you know" weakening.
