Its by no means finished, but i did deliver the first draft of my new book to my publisher on Friday afternoon! Hoorah! Now the next stage begins and five weeks and counting until due date.
Congratulations Rowan - if this is a really stupid newbie question pls excuse me, but is that how it works once you are published that you submit first draft? (*Sitting looking at first draft of new book feeling it needs a lot of work before brave enough to show to agent*...).
Hi Kate, I've got it down to a fine art now, first draft submit to editor and agent simultaneously and then wait for feedback start second draft. If I wasn't up against deadlines I could spend an age tweaking before showing anyone! If are able then maybe submit to agent first, get feedback there before submitting to your publisher, but don't be scared of feedback - fresh eyes are always good.
Well done! Can I come to the virtual party? I'm glad I visited here because I saw HelenMHunt and there's an envelope sitting beside me waiting to be put in the post to her... I honestly haven't had time to go to the post office and double check the postage, I've been so busy with my promotional tour. I've also been invited to post on two more blogs. Please come and visit www.thecurzongroup.com where I blog every Thursday, all about books.
Thank you for visiting my blog on the Curzon Group, Fia. If you still want to comment, I've put the correct link on my own blog now. It takes you straight to the page with the comment box. I hope you come back and add a comment!

Thanks Rowan, that's really interesting. Get a bit paralysed by the thought it has to be 'perfect' before sending out :)
