Newbie here...

I am so nervous to post here but in a good way. I am trying to introduce myself without saying something cheesy like ‘It’s Lily here!’ which I just did. Well now that I’ve said it I’ll tell you a little about me. I love writing, always have. I thought Journalism was the way to go until halfway though my course I realised politics and local government weren’t really my bag and writing fiction was. My blog is about every day things like films I’ve seen, books I’ve read, places I’ve been, but mainly (or so I like to think) about my writing progress. I first started blogging almost 2 years ago now after I entered the Miss Write Competition. After entering and googling constantly for winners and runners up I stumbled across Calistro’s blog where she posted about various other competitions. It was through her post about one competition in particular run by 5photostory.com that I did something I never thought I would. I got a short story published. I also came across a wonderful group of people called The Novel Racers. A group that I thought I would never have the confidence to be a part of and now here I am! I also made some good friends and got some invaluable advice. This means a lot as amongst my group of friends I am the only aspiring writer (which is kinda nice cuz it’s my thing!). I am STILL working on my first novel, something I am sick of hearing myself say but now I am officially in the race I just know it’s going to be the boost I need to get it finished.
