An inconvenient Christmas!

Running very fast here in order to stand still. Have entire family descending for the fete de Noel and MIL already settled in residence. In the midst of preparations I was suddenly struck by an idea for a novel. This was most inconvenient as I am rather busy, it kept me up last night, with an annoying list of chapter headings, and this morning when I should be doing domestic slavery I am here at the computer having safely tied MIL to the kitchen table with a bottle of silver polish and a lifetimes supply of cutlery to keep her out of mischief. I know I should be glad and relieved as having finished the re write of "The Adventures of UN Peu Loufoque" and "Pootle", my children's story, I feared my Muse may have died of exhaustion! No, it was merely waiting for the worst possible time to come visit! Does anyone else have this trouble?

Anyway I am not sure what list I need to put my name down for for 2009, I promise to be good and write regular and try and comment as much as possible..meanwhile.. Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night... or in my case a night fighting with chapter contents whilst trying to type silently so as not to wake up visitors!!

I do know what you mean. Ideas seem to arrive when they feel like it, not when you want them to. I would go with the flow; or if you can't, then at least jot down the ideas down in a notebook.

Happy Xmas.

Ideas come trundling along when you least expect them, don't they? Except the wheels usually fall off mine before I get the chance to run after them and catch them!

Why is that? That story ideas arrived at inconvenient times? I've just had the same thing happen.
