Erm...

I'm sorry. I've been a bad Novel Racer. I do believe the time has come to let someone else have my space. I work full time, I'm a single parent and I'm doing a degree: I think, with the best will in the world, for the next year, I will be neither racing nor novel writing.

I'm not giving up the writing, of course, no no no no nooooo... but until my degree is completed, it will be short stories and comps.

But even typing this, I'm thinking 'oooh, I could gradually plot Novel 2...'. And I could. But I won't, not really.

I can still come to the parties, though, right? I will be back, I will write that next novel. But for now, it's time for a sabattical.

Toodle pip.

Oh Jen! Oh no!

But to be fair I know exactly where you're coming from as I've been a bit rubbish...I haven't even commented on the fact Clare and Captain Black have left too (sorry you two I've been away then the baby started to crawl etc etc, I will rectify as soon as finished here).

Jen keep in touch. x

Blimey, I've got a little behind (being away, mother over, etc, etc) and look what I find when I try to catch up.

So sorry to hear you're leaving, but do hope you'll be back.

I think we all go through phases and ups and downs. Goes with the territory.

Don't go far.

Aw, thanks everyone. It's seriously just a break - I've realised I can't do everything and do it well.

I may well plot the next novel but I just think someone else could benefit from everything I've gained from being a part of the Novel Racers.

But yeah. I'll be back, for sure. Really, nothing's changed. I'll still be writing, blogging and coming to the knees-ups! Just being honest about the lack of actual novel-writing for now.

Oh no. But I do understand...I hardly wrote anything on my novel last year.

As long as you promise to return and of course all the recent leavers must come to the parties. Wouldn't be the same without you :)

Good luck with the rest of the degree,

Cx

Not you too, SS. You will be missed. Best of luck in everything, and as Graeme said, don't go far.
