Coffee Morning Hijack

Good morning, everyone!

I see no-one has volunteered for the coffee morning, so I wondered if you would all like to come to mine? I'm afraid there's slippy, sloppy muddy Spaniel and Labrador footprints all over the kitchen floor from the early morning walkies, but you are welcome to tea, coffee, biscuits and toast - just don't take your shoes off!

I have an idea. Over the last few months, my life of work and home has yielded some brilliant ideas for short story plots, but there is no way I can use them because (a) I might get the sack, and (b) I don't think my husband would be too pleased if I made up a story about a numpty who managed to poke himself in the eye with the tip of a pool cue and gouge a piece out of his eyeball (tee hee!!!!). Neither would my youngest son like it to be widely known that he embarrassingly ended up in A & E at 2.30 am on New Year's Day, after being collected by his mum from a shrubbery in London Road.

I also have some eyebrow-raising stories involving people I know. I can't use them, but other novel racers can!

We ought to use our Private Place to swap plot ideas that we couldn't use ourselves, because of breaches of confidentiality etc, but that someone else could make use of.

What do you all think?

Oh dear - sorry Miriam - I am a week out. I am so used to working a week in front at work I thought it was next week instead of this week. I apologise for the hijack everyone! Still this week we'll get two for the price of one.

No problem, Annieye, as long as people read my post too. And I think your idea is an excellent one. ~Miriam

Good idea Annie, and don't worry I'm still all over the place days-wise since Christmas!

Oh that's such a brilliant idea. I love the idea of posting some of the funnies my family do. Obviously I won't be posting anything embarrassing about myself because I never do humiliating or stpid. Never. No, really, never ever...

Absolutely brilliant idea and it could maybe tie up with Miriams post. I do feel that the Racers need some impetus to keep us going for 2011.

Good idea.
Not that I can really supply any any. I have no such compunction about using familial anecdotes since no-one here reads my shit anyway ;)

Great idea! Are you going to tell the "orange smoothie" story or shall I?

Please say Hello to Heather from me too. x

I think this is a great idea and am sure I'd have a few ideas that I'd never be able to use, unless I fancied being sued, but someone else could use them.

Whenever I've hosted the Coffee Morning I've usually forgotten until mid-morning, despite making calendar notes etc, I love it that you've posted a week early Annie. *giggles*

I'm late enough that I think the footprints are gone now!

I think this is a lovely idea, and I'd be happy to contribute anything suitably inappropriate!
