Volunteers Needed

Apologies for the lack of coffee break yesterday. Blame me for putting Ellie on the rota but not confirming it with her.

We need some volunteers for next week and also for 10th September. Who's up for it?

Time for a Revamp?

We seem to be getting a bit quiet in our old age. I think the time has come for a new lease of life for the Novel Racers blog. Ideas please! Here's a few things to kick off...

• We need coffee break volunteers. First come, first served. I have a couple of good subjects for tomorrow and next week, if nobody else minds.
• Where are we all with our race entries. I've probably got behind with the gadgets' database, but then you lot haven't been updating me either.
• Shall we give the blog a facelift? There's lots of nice new templates available.
• When and where shall we meet IRL again?
• Everyone please remind me who is and who isn't a current member. If not, are you on sabbatical or retired as alumni?
• The accomplishments page probably needs updating. Information please.
• What else shall we talk about here? Competitions? Writing techniques? Successes? Failures? Gossip (I'm way behind)? Politics? Religion? Gardening?...

I hope you don't mind me posting this as a bit of a kick-up-the-you-know-what for us all.

In other top secret news, I've fairly recently started writing again. Therefore please may I rejoin the group?

Coffee Rota and Other Bits

I can hardly believe that we have drunk our way through the last batch of coffees....JJ has stepped into the breach for the next two but I would like to have the coffees lined up until the end of the year - so volunteers please step forward - especially the new racers if you are feeling brave (we don't bite - well only the goodies on offer!) and anyone who has yet hosted.

The other admin topic - we have had a few racers recently declare their intention to take a step back. Of course while respecting their decisions and reasons we are broken hearted and will expect them to turn up at coffees frequently! So I will be contacting people on the wait list to see if they still want to join this rag tag bunch.

I will post an update later with further details but for now just wanted to let you know that admin was actually taking place!

Future Coffee Mornings

How is the rota looking? Who is in charge of it? I have a couple of topics I'd like to host coffee mornings on, if anyone is looking for volunteers...

Coffee rota

I've just noticed that there's only 3 more coffee break hostees on the rota.

Are we all happy to continue with the same system? If so I'm able to organise a rota for the next set of hostings. If people can indicate their inclination to host, along with any dates that they can't do, either by adding a comment here or emailing me at kate.kingsley@gmail.com, I'll cobble something together.

Or if anyone has any ideas for a spanking new system then shout up.
